Faustine Merret (3rd place Mistral Worlds, 2nd place Mistral Europeans and on the right above) was one of those nominated as one of the French sailors of the year . Faustine has been amazingly consistent, never failing to achieve a podium finish  at the worlds or Europeansin the last three years

On Monday evening in Paris, France , the French sailing world honoured their top sailors on the occasion of the Evening of Champions and presentation of the Sailor of the Year Trophy. During the evening, eighteen different awards were presented to sailors who achieved outstandingly during the year. The highest award, Sailors of the Year, was presented to Xavier Rohart and Pascal Rambeau in recognition of their success in winning the ISAF World Championship in the men's keelboat event in the Star Class, with a race to spare. Their award was presented by Jean-Pierre Champion, President of FFVoile, Goran Petersson, ISAF Vice-president and Jean-François of Banque Populaire, principal partner of the federation.
