Following on from the successful ISAF Windsurfing Presentation Event held at Cadiz, ISAF will conduct the second stage of the Windsurfing Trials due to be held at Torbole, Italy from 3-8 May 2004. Evaluation trials have proven to be a valuable tool in assisting the ISAF in making decisions on equipment for future Olympics. Both the 49er and the Tornado were chosen in this manner. And, this year, the ISAF held Evaluation trials for the new Youth Multihull.

In order to achieve the best results, ISAF will choose a balance of men and women sailors for these Trials from a wide range of weights, geographic regions and disciplines. Current Olympic class sailors, professionals and Formula class sailors will be invited to help evaluate the equipment in a wide range of conditions including heavy air and light air sailing, course racing and slalom and speed tests.

After this deadline, the Evaluation Panel will make the final selection of sailors dependant on the amount of equipment entered into the Trials. The final list of sailors chosen will be circulated by 1 March to ensure enough time to make travel arrangements.

Please note that no more than two sailors from any country will be invited by the Evaluation Panel. Each MNA will be responsible for the travel and any expenses for their sailors attending the trials. Sailors should have the ability to both speak and write in English allowing them to understand directions and to enable the to give concise answers to the questionnaires.
