ISAF Windsurfing Evaluation Trials - less than 2 weeks to go!
    Posted On:  19/01/2004 18:06:38

There is now less than two weeks to go before the entry deadline for MNA's to register sailors and manufacturers. The objective of the Equipment Evaluation Event is to identify suitable equipment to be selected for use at the 2008 Olympic Regatta, Beijing.

Application Forms must be returned to the ISAF Secretariat by 1 February at the very latest. Entry criteria for the second phase of the Evaluation Event is the same as previously published on the ISAF website in 2003 and is available by clicking HERE http://www.sailing.org/technical/App_Windsurfing04.pdf

As well as the design application form, the application form for Member National Authorities who wish to send sailors to take part in the Evaluation Event is also available online and can be downloaded via the following link. MNA Application Forms should be submitted by 1 February 2004. http://www.sailing.org/Article_content.asp?ArticleID=6012

Evaluation trials have proven to be a valuable tool in assisting the ISAF in making decisions on equipment for future Olympics. Both the 49er and the Tornado were chosen in this manner, and last year the ISAF held Evaluation Trials for the new Youth Multihull.

For further details on the Olympic Windsurfing Equipment Evaluation Event itself, the details of the design entry form, or the MNA sailor applications, please contact Sebastian Edmonds at the ISAF Secretariat or view the ISAF Olympic Equipment Evaluation Event information on the ISAF website.
