Tom Ashley (NZL 181) moves on to the top of the leader board this was not because of a sparkling two races today... steady... but not sparkling. More because Byron Kokkalanis (GRE 8) may be a little tired after a tough ISAF Youth Worlds and a constant pressure of expectation from home. This is reflected in his two results today (16th & 15th). The other guy to benefit "big time" is Victor Moreau (FRA 89) who has jumped to 2nd place overall having scored two 3rds today. With 4 races to go and a further discard to take, Tom looks safe. However it all depends on whether Byron can find renewed strength to make one last effort.
Zofia Klepacka (POL 8) on the otehr hand seems to have slipped into 'cruise' mode. Doing enough to stay in touch with the leader by finishing 2nd and 3rd in each race today but not pushing as much as usual. This has allowed Chan Wai Man (HKG 26) to win one today as well Charlene Picon (FRA2). Charlene had a nightmare first day to this regatta but has come back fighting and may still make the top 5 if she can finish this regatta well.
