Sailing at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo concluded on Sunday. 13 nations took home medals with five sharing the eight gold medals. The medal ceremonies are due to take place on Monday 11 August. Ricardo SANTOS (BRA), the 2002 Mistral World Champion, took gold in the Men's boards event after winning the final two races to bring his tally of bullets to seven. The silver went to Marcos Galvan (ARG) just three points behind after the pair dominated the event taking all the first and second places between them. Bronze went to Kevin Stittle of Canada, despite him scoring an OCS in race 11 and not competing in race 12. The Womens Mistral event was utterly dominated by Lanee BUTLER (USA) who took 10 bullets and 2 seconds and didn't need to compete in race 11 or 12 to take the title 12 points clear of second placed Vallee from Canada. The bronze went to Argentinas C Walther.
